This weekend I experienced crosstalk for the first time on my Pioneer 925, or at least the first time I noticed. I've had the unit for at least 15 years. Was on a CLV disc, and didn't show up until 30 minutes in. Became increasingly worse, and the last couple minutes, I even had dropouts and skipping. I assume it's the pickup? Is it something I would be able do adjust, or is my only choice to look for a new unit? Here's a short video: https://youtu.be/wGiuXzZ-wLo

I feel that this is a warped disc, when I had discs that displayed those issues it was the disc that was warped and not the player. The only other thing it could be is dirt on the disc or laser. But I would hold off on cleaning and don't use Alcohol to clean the laser you may damage it.

Thanks for the quick replies. At least I don't have to worry about the player. At least you aren't embarrassed about messing up the player Too many people are jumping too fast to adjust stuff and then mess up players when it can be such a simple thing. Glad you checked the discs again Don't toss the discs, I have had one that I did fix and others here have fixed warped discs too. Just search it up, I just left it in the shelf of discs in the center so it got sort of squished, other do that and then others I believe put them between two surfaces with weights but check up on that.

Yes you should be able to get then totally flat/playable again. Sorted a few (a couple quite badly warped) & they are still playing well. A little heat (hairdryer not a heat gun) plus compression if they are bad has worked for me. Time & stacking as they should be stored also can do the job - patience helps. Good luck & hope you get a result . .
