Road to Wellville, The (1994) [73426]Less raunchy and madcap than I'd remembered from a lone viewing when it debuted, yet a more balanced film overall. An active script, good performances, and attractive sets. Also, Dana Carvey portrays a character that matches how I've always imagined him to behave and appear in everyday life. LD quality = AQ was high as usual. PQ was phenomenal, going head to head with Sleep with Me as the best looking 1:85 I've seen. No complaints at ten feet wide. Thus it boggles the mind the DVD release was full-screen. WTF. For those interested, the LDDB shops happen to sell this very cheap.

All of a sudden while looking through the boxes with various vinyl discs inside them I noticed a laserdisc within the lot - The Frighteners dts LD ! I guess the seller did not even know it was a laserdisc and sold it to me for 5 Euro. I could not believe my luck. I most certainly did not expect this to happen today ! Plus I have never seen this film so I have something new to watch on my laserdisc player. I have found a few, not many but a few, LDs like that over the years in unexpected places including among boxes of vinyl records including an F1 LD that I had not seen before - made my day! Great when you bag a good one like that, enjoy . Cheers .

Some early 90s masters including this one are a bit soft and don't scale that good.

Mint, Do not believe i have ever seen surprisingly So looking forward to watching this 'classic' on LD You won't be disappointed. Ran it only the other week and picture quality was reasonably sharp and more than decent for a mid 80s movie, no real video noise to speak of with just film grain apparent. If yours also has the Dolby Digital 5.1 option like mine then your in for a treat. Tbh even the PCM option is still really impressive.
