Hello!
As unlikely as it would seem, the 2 robots did have some music videos released on LDs:
Da Funk ET/VideoLink Dance Hits: Number 5056 [09-500]
Aerodynamic Laser Juke: Music Compilation Series (2001) [10.49.05]
One More Time Laser Juke: Music Compilation Series (2001) [14.48.04]
DAFT PUNK on LD makes perfect sense: a mix of analog and digital worlds.
Julien
I do seem to have all of the above mentioned LaserDiscs. was lucky enough about 15 years ago to buy about 200 LaserJukes from a Spanish guy. |

looking forward to the next FW version.
just compared the Kramer VP-773A with the good old trusted HLD-X0 NEC comb filter chip and Singmai's Composite to SDI box and have to say the Singmai box, even with not finished FW blows both away.
hope Daniel can find some time to get it even better! |

I think would agree with your choice of the 2950 Michael; only other options that I can think of are perhaps the simpler (but generally less common) single side play 1950 and of course the much earlier CLD-1750 which had a decent reputation back in the day, though now perhaps a bit long in the tooth?
He decided to use a CLD-D925. |

I picked this up at at Goodwill over the weekend for $2 over the weekend. It has the manual. I'm not sure of the purpose of this piece of equipment. It does have a video disc input. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!
looks like the AV-300 had dbx noise encoding and decoding, too!
cool
did cost $650 way back then. used for video copying as a picture enhancer

OK, I bought the 2 units on Yahoo! and Mercari auctions. They both came in today.
just tested the 2 units, one working perfectly , the other having a non functioning input A and in input B the comb filter does not seem to work (notch only).
for those who might be interested in some test clips, what sequences would you like to see the 3D Y/C performance of the Toshiba?
I do have some test discs and hundreds of LaserDisc movies to test. |

Wouldn't it be great if we could compile a list of all the Repair Specialists by Continent, Country or Region?
I wouldn't know anyone in my Region.
Last time I had a player repaired, Pioneer Switzerland still existed and even after a botched repair atempt by the engineer (he killed the spare Laser Assembly) it needed to be send to Japan to be repaired. And they told me never to bring in a player again.
That's not possible anymore.
and who want's to send their player all over the world, we all know how well the packages are treated nowadays. |

CLD-99 or CLD-3080? I currently have a fat Sylvania tube tv in my room that supports composite and s-video. Would it be better to have the CLD-99 in my room and the CLD-3080 downstairs? Does the 3d comb filter help a lot with the cld-99 on older tvs or do you think it doesn't really matter? What is your recommendation? The one that will be in the main living room will probably get more usage.
Chroma noise on the CLD-99 is pretty bad, haven't seen the CLD-3080.
(noise in highly saturated colors, red especially , horizontal lines visible)
it depends what you mainly watch on the big TV. if it's movies mainly, the CLD-99 will do)
you can crank up the Chroma Noise Reduction in the special Comb Filter menu. |

first, wrap a plastic around it, take a few 'Wolldecken', wrap it around the player and pad the suitcase and for god's sake, observe all traffic speed limits until your home. |
