The CLD-D515 doesn't have a Digital output, I suppose it gets converted to analog and should output on Analog L/R?

That’s how every player that had Digital Sound did it until they started adding digital outs.
I think he means the player doesn’t use the track at all. This can potentially occur if the grip ring slips but other than that I have no ideas. Since CDs are affected I’d say this isn’t that.
So what does a CD do? Does it play and track and all that and just lacks sound? |

So it still allows you to switch to the Digital track, but it’s just silent?
In that case I would look for failing capacitors in the audio section. |

You would need to buy the Service Manual (we don't have it yet) online and check the schematics around the audio section with a tester for a broken path.

The 315 should be close enough, aside from lack of PAL analogue audio support and dual-side play. It'll almost certainly be based on the same motherboard, so everything about digital audio should be identical.

I think based on the front panel design, the 515 might be a derivative of the 504. Here is the link for the service manual...

Also, are you using the Scart or RCA outputs to connect the player to your system? |

| There is a service manual with parts lists, schematics, and adjustment procedure. The other is a service guide with block diagrams and descriptions of how the player works. You need schematics to check power to the D/A’s and output op amps or open signal lines. |

| RRV1603 is the AC3 addendum - There is a guide for the S104 (RRV1188) that I'd like to get someday if it ever pops up somewhere, but I don't know if there's an equivalent for the 504/515/604. |
