Sticky post concerning the LD Player manuals on LDDb:

The current starting point is:

Just a little update to mention that we reshuffled a little bit the repository structure to allow for a few more types of devices:

LD Players manuals
http://manuals.lddb.com/LD_Players/

AC3RF Demodulators manuals
http://manuals.lddb.com/AC3RF_Demodulators/

MUSE (Hi-Vision) Decoders
http://manuals.lddb.com/MUSE_Decoders/

CED Players manuals
http://manuals.lddb.com/CED_Players/

I will stick for now to the following naming convention (for players):

/ Brand / Family / Model - Language _(other infos).pdf

If you happen to have a PDF manual missing or can scan yours (below 10MB would be great, you can split/multi-zip/etc. as long as it can be reconstructed on a Windows or Linux platform), just send it to: manual@lddb.com . Don't worry if you can only send JPEGs of each page, I can easily generate PDFs if needed.

To make sending HUGE scanned PDFs easier than splitting by Email, I setup a anonymous drop (upload only) URL that you can access here:

https://cloud.wilk.fr/index.php/s/pWtRSbVInEc6Te8

The password hint is : what is the video medium we are mostly collecting here? (small case, no plural)

Julien

PS: Topic is locked, PM me if you have a question.

Thought this may be of interest to people, there appear to be several laserdisc orientated websites still active from the late 90's and early 00's. Here are a few I have found.

http://www.blamld.com/LaserDisc/index.htm
This site contains info on DTS and Dobly disc as well as some stuff on Unicersal discs and Pioneer production facilities.

https://laserdiscs.discdude.net/archives/february00.htm
This mostly contains the 'latest' laserdisc news but interesting to see the announcements and what actually did come out.

http://www.mindspring.com/~laserdisc-forever/
People are probably familiar with this one, it has quite a few good laserdisc reviews though.

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/site_archive/reviews/dvdmisc.html
There are also two laserdisc reviews on digital bits, X Files and Star Wars episode 1

http://www.baudline.com/erik/ht/index.html
This seems to someone's personal home theatre blog but it has some good stuff on it including a particularly interesting comparison of the AC3 and DTS versions of Jurassic Park.

There are probably many more classic laserdisc orientated sites out there but I found these very enjoyable to read through and show not just what the Internet was like back then but also the state of laserdisc in its last years.
