HDL-2000 is a 1988 (Shōwa 63) model. The HDL-5800 is from 1989. Sony's official November 1988 HDVS product catalog includes the HDL-2000. HDL-5800 was present at the exhibition organized by Sony at the beginning of 1990 (I do not remember the document stating that it was released in 1989, but it was):
