Just would like to say Ted i genuinely enjoy your reviews, Im just some guy in New Zealand who loves reading your reviews while enjoying a whisky in the weekend
Ensure your RCA cables are of a decent standard, 75ohm with shielding etc and less important your HDMi cable is not some $1NZD job. Easy simple way to squeeze abit more of the picture.
UPDATE! The JVC MV150 dvd recorder arrived today. I hooked it up and the difference is incredible! I'm not sure if the improvement in picture quality is due to the hdmi output from the JVC, the JVC's filter or a mixture of both. Anyway, I'm thrilled and so happy that it worked out perfectly. Thanks for the help! David
Thats great to hear  Anytime you can squeeze more out of this format is a massive win. Whats the improvement in quality? Picture less "soft"? Colours more natural?
You prefer LD analog audio over PCM digital, seriously? The analog audio is so much more alive like listening to a vinyl record 8-)
Just for people reading this in the future this statement is not true. Analog sound from LaserDisc is similar to a FM radio station. Digital is far more cleaner and is basically full CD quality
Good to see you reply signofzeta. Not many products get the Jake Heke stamp of approval but these cables do,
Ill assume the individual sheathing keeps the Luma and Chroma signal separate but regardless, in my New Zealand eye balls it provides a better image than much more expensive cables i have trialed. Again S-Video cables for future readers really should only be used with few LaserDisc players with special 3-D comb filters, else your TV will do a better job via composite which you should use with other players Thank you to the kind user here who generously sent them to me.
Had a member contact me here. He had signed up to LDDB to find someone in New Zealand who would like his original LaserDisc collection, His player no longer works unfortunately. I was the only 'Active' member he could see from New Zealand so lucky me
Anyway after paying for postage from a local village these boxes arrived to clutter my home:
I personally would love to own. Incredible stretch of land which has changed over the years. What better way to witness it from 1990/1991 from a laserdisc directly into my eyeballs?
