Had a quick look and apparently you need region free firmware, stock firmware doesn't have region select. After flashing the firmware, every time the player is turned on you may need to change the region depending on what disc you want to play. That is to say the region you select will reset when turning the unit off.
You can even mod most blu-ray players region free for DVDs. There's certainly no shortage of alternatives if you're afraid of bricking your HD-DVD player.
I have no LD player or LD discs, but I thought of buying several times. The one thing that kept me away was the price (in Sweden) when I was young and now it is the fact that I didn't join the train. But maybe I will start collecting it one day. I do like to read the conversations on this forum so the format intrigues me. I've spotted some decent players for sale at tradera every now and then, they definitely seem to be easier to come by than in Finland so at least you've got that going on for you.
Connery, best but some films start to be too comical around the 3rd Goldfinger.
Brosnon, films were OK not tops but a very good replacement to Connery.
Far 3rd Craig, only reason I like these films but do not actually own them is the fact that the violence is very close to the books in these films, but the books too started to lag off. One day I'll pickup his films at a thrift store cheap.
Then for me that's pretty much it, Lazenby is good but its just a filler and the film is just too long with horrible music playing over and over again, wish they had an actual song for this one rather than cheap out but I can totally see why.
Moore is just the Saint asking for martini's and Dalton is just a slight step up above Moore but not by much, would say these two are tied at 9th and 10th place.
Purchased mine locally from a ex-Star Trek collector who was very not happy with the direction Sony/CBS has taken the franchise and as such was liquidating his collectibles. Never understood this mentality. "They made something I hate so now I hate all the things I used to love to, too"
s**t, I had the complete opposite reaction - when Disney turned Star Wars into a complete turd, I ended up clinging way harder to the parts I did like and actually started collecting old SW tat despite never doing so before!
Moved my HD-A3 to my bedroom running thru a cheapo native 720p projector on a 100 inch screen and watched The Thing. No issues loading and playback was doing well until I had one instance near to the end of the movie of it hanging up after I accidentally hit several buttons on the remote (did not appear to have been paused). I went back a chapter and it played thru where it hung up with no issues. As I love the movie I will re watch it and put the remote where I can't accidentally hit it again.
