Hello LD fans,
after I ran out of original parts of the VNL1779, I invested time and money to reproduce this spare part.
In cooperation with a company which specializes in 3D printing and 3D scanning, an original part was digitized with a high-accuracy 3D scanner and an STL file was created with it.
After a few changes to the print file, a fully functional replica could be produced. (See attachments.)

3D manufacturing process: stereolithography (SLA)
Material used: Somos® EvoLVe 128 white
This material is a durable, tough plastic that is particularly suited for parts that must withstand mechanical loads.

Please understand that I'm not going to publish my 3D print file because it cost me about € 250 to get it created.
(Unfortunately, I am unable to create and edit 3D files myself.)
Additionally, due to the overall construction, the part can not be printed with regular consumer 3D printers.

However, if you are interested in purchasing replicated motor holder I will sell the part for € 15, regardless of the higher development costs.
Just send me a pm for details.

Here is my video on YouTube showing the part:

Information (Dec. 2023): None of my manufactured parts are available anymore.

But to my own surprise, I found a remaining quantity of the original packed VNL1779 the stock of an unknown company in Nov. 2023

So you obviously don't have any LDs and just want to try and figure out your buttons.
I guarantee you, I personally have owned in my LD life over 2000 LDs and none of them would be bothered with these buttons.
So you will be waiting a long time to find out the true function of those buttons.
Good luck.

It's actually good manners not to quote PMs and make them public.
But let's leave that. This way the counter of your posts has increased again. :D

Hi guys, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend or compromise anyone.
I opened this thread, hoping to get some helpful tips - or perhaps find a user manual of this player.
And I'm sorry that I'm not interested in laserdisc-smalltalk.

To the presumption that I don't own any LDs, I send a photo with a view into my LD room.
Together with my son I have a collection of about 4000 laserdiscs. You can see the catalogued part here:

And you are also welcome to have a look at my YouTube channel:

By the way: The number of LD players I have repaired in the past 13 years amounts to about 160.
From the Pioneer LD-V200 to the DVL-909, everything was there.
My LD player collection currently consists of about 40 working machines.
So if YOU ever need help repairing an LD player, feel free to contact me.

Has anyone actually gotten one of these motors free this way or should I be looking for a 1057 motor?

The PARTY-GAME buttons didn't work because the circuit board behind them was damaged.
After I had repaired this, they could finally be tested.
There are 4 built-in functions (simple screen games) that are independent of karaoke.
The games cannot be used while a laserdisc (film or karaoke) is playing.

These are the built-in games:
GAME 3: CAR RACE - Maximum 5 cars
GAME 4: COUPLEs - Maximum 5 couples = 10 Persons

Here is a video of the games:

You are using Ikea Kallax to store your LDs?
Did you do any reeinforcing to the shelves or are they strong enough "by nature"?
The modern ones are kinda flimsy and I did not dare to use them for LD storage.

Hi Markus,
I bought those Ikea Kallax shelves a couple of years ago.
During assembly, I glued the wooden dowels with white wood glue.
There have been no problems so far.
I don't know whether they saved on the material for today's shelves.

Greetings from the 'Gold Town' of Pforzheim in Germany
