It's a shame @laserdisc.ws doesn't want to provide any pictures or information. Such a rare piece should be shared with the community.

I was also following the various auctions on HD MAC and other rare discs but I won't spent a few hundred $ just to have such an item without a player.
Everyone should agree on this. There is a video and a decent photo of the HD-MAC cassette and player, but no videos/photos of LaserDisc players could be found:

Some great pics on this YAJ item (including a HDVS LD Coral Story [00QW-9009] )

HDL-2000 is a 1988 (Shōwa 63) model. The HDL-5800 is from 1989. Sony's official November 1988 HDVS product catalog includes the HDL-2000. HDL-5800 was present at the exhibition organized by Sony at the beginning of 1990 (I do not remember the document stating that it was released in 1989, but it was):

Extra info: In this video, HDV-10, HDM-2830, HDC-500 prototype etc. it seems

I think this is the HD-MAC LaserDisc Player (Philips VP400 series based (right)) mentioned (HD-MAC decoder (left)):
