This is the main bearings in the motor. Whenever I've run into this, I replace the motor and throw the old one out (or keep it as an emergency spare). You can replace it with the motor from any DVL player. Although of all the DVL units, the 700 is my least favorite.
Well, I did buy a spare motor. If it gets worse I think I'll replace it.

I think moving the frame one pixel up or down should reverse the fields too (if they are in the wrong order...).

I love watching old (and different) versions of movies. Original or close-to theatrical soundtracks (which can also differ per LD of the same movie...), no upmixes (mostly... WS Little Mermaid is upmixed). The image quality, it's just nice to look at, some noise, no compression, it feels alive. Of course some LDs look better than others.

These days, directors have too many tools to screw up. Weird color grading (I didn't like Blade Runner Final Cut for the colors), AI upscaling, Dolby Atmos that was never intended.

I started a year ago, with the Pioneer CLD-V250, also a karaoke player. I bought it because I had discs but no player. No digital or AC3 out, but the sound was fantastic anyway. I had it connected to a Tag Mclaren setup with a REL Storm 3 subwoofer and Polk Audio speakers (Lsi9, Csi40, LsiFx).

Is there a certain brand of speakers that you guys @takashi and the other nice people would recommend?

If I would be looking for new speakers for Home Cinema, I would go for THX certified speakers. My reasons:
- Left, Center, Right are the same, as they should.
- Non-ported design, so they play nice with subwoofers (which is also a requirement). Filters that your receiver will apply will match better.
- These speakers are built for movies first.

The Dolby Surround soundtrack seems fine too, with some good low end. Too bad I don't have the AC3 for comparison.
