This started July 1st, on parcels entering EU (doesn't apply for EU-EU shipment).
https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/press/press-releases/2025/12/12/customs-council-agrees-to-levy-customs-duty-on-small-parcels-as-of-1-july-2026/- €3 is applied per item type (distinct HS codes), not per parcel.
- 2 LDs is €3 but 1 LD and 1 VHD is €6.
- This is in addition to the standard VAT/GST that remains in place.
- Depending on your shipping country and carrier, it might be possible to prepay (PPD) otherwise it will be due at import/customs.
That's going to make everyone's life... so much easier.
It's basically to break the flood of Shein/Temu/Alibaba packets that were divested to EU when the US "de minimis" ended August last year.
