Thanks Julian, Yes, this transaction was suspect as soon as I sent the tracking number. The buyer then asked for a $20 discount on the original purchase. Then he complained to his credit card company the discs were not as described. Then PayPal sided with him because his credit card company sided with him. Ask the others, I'm sure you will get more stories. Cheers, Brandon |

Asked me to cancel one purchase... and then purchased it again right away. Also not answering my questions. Just asking more questions back. Stay away from this one. He smells trouble. Julien |

Julien There's a possibility that the *.edu has been hacked or bought too. Well worth the alert to the campus as someone may be selling off account access. It's rife on Gr€€dBa¥. |

No response from the police@ email, re-looping with the PR address as well. He's also not responding to my request for pics or why he asked me to cancel a purchase, just to repurchase it hours later. Recontacting all sellers to ask them to NOT ship anything. Julien |

Purchased sealed LaserDisc from me. A few days after delivery I received notice from Paypal he had opened up a claim with his bank or credit card. I figured right then what he was pulling considering he never bothered to reach out to me first. I sent an email to him asking what was going on and why he was filing a claim and he responded the cover was bent and the disc looked scratched, but he wouldn't provide me photographs. I found the scratching to be highly unlikely considering it was brand new. But the package was insured so I could have gotten him a full refund if it had actually been damaged and he had provided photos. But he didn't want to send photos and didn't want me to file an insurance claim. I offered him a full refund by returning it and he specifically said he didn't want to return it. Not sure what else that makes the guy but a thief. He wanted a perfectly fine LD for free, fact that he's pulling the same thing on others here is just more evidence to that. Sent the email conversation and photos of the sealed item I had sent him to Paypal but Bank/CC sided with him. Total B/S. My opinion is Admin should post the guy's full name on this thread. If he's pulling this here he's pulling this elsewhere, that way when anyone searches his name on the internet this thread will pop up as testament to his online thievery. At least a warning to protect other sellers on the internet (and future employers) from him considering the financial institutions are just letting him steal without recourse. |

theanswermvp2001 wrote: My opinion is Admin should post the guy's full name on this thread. All other orders (he re-ordered some) have been cancelled and sellers informed directly by Email. For reference, his registered name is WESLEY NEDDERMEYER with a University of Minnesota @umn.edu email address and a shipping address in Maple Plain, Minnesota. He even contacted me (without answering a single question I asked) to get his negative feedbacks removed. This is my answer: Quote: I see no compelling reasons to do that at this point. You have evaded all my questions and both stories from the negative feedbacks sellers are the same.
Right now all your pending transactions have been cancelled, I don't think anyone here will sell to you anymore. You might as well stop using this website. Your basic information will be posted for others sellers to be warned. I also contacted the police and PR desk at your Uni to report your behavior. They might want to investigate on their own. He didn't even argue or reply to my questions. He just asked me to close his account. I will when I hear from all other sellers that they are aware the pending transactions were cancelled and that none of them shipped anything. He's definitely a scammer. Let's hope his name on this thread will surface on Google search and make his life a little harder. He just changed his username to ambassador. In the USA, fraudulent credit card charge back is a felony with up to 15 years in jail. Julien |

admin wrote: All other orders (he re-ordered some) have been cancelled and sellers informed directly by Email. Julien I for one appreciate all you've done on this. In this day in age I'm surprised people have the audacity to do this when all their personal info is available with a simple Google search. I was able to find out his date of birth, telephone #, as well as all his parents and siblings info just off his order info within about five minutes when he pulled this on me. This guy isn't a kid but he's acting like one and he needs to grow up, his credit card company may let him get away with it for a while but karma has a way of catching up with you. teddanson wrote: Shame PayPal aren't in the Dock too. Supposedly Paypal will shut down an account after they see a history of this behavior. Who knows how true that is considering they are not taking any financial loss in these situations and passing the fees off on the sellers. |

All I got from the Uni is: Quote: If you wish to file a police report, please contact the agency where you reside. That doesn't really help. I deleted his account. Julien |

I'm personally surprised more people aren't pulling this type of stuff, its actually very easy and I've held my tongue so many times on this forum not from me getting scammed but about things I've seen over the 15+ years I've been buying and selling. I had a similar situation on ebay about 10 years ago with CEDs, the guy gave me my first negative feedback ever, come to think about it it may have been the only one. Anyway said the disc was skipping, it wasn't great but it didn't skip as I had a player at the time, but he pulled this with a bunch of people and you could see the feedback and contact others at the time, OK he got away with it but then again he was trying to scam junk from people for free. He didn't get any money back from me but it was also posted on the CED forum at the time, very nasty guy with a nasty mouth too. |

Fortunately, most people either don't know or aren't evil enough to do it. In my 20+ years now of buying/selling online I can still count the scammers on my hands. One that sticks out to me to this day is a camcorder I sold in a bundle deal on eBay. Buyer claimed it wasn't working right. This was a very low value bundle so I just ate my loss instead of being out $20+ in shipping on a $40 bundle. Well of course the buyer then relisted everything individually for max profit including the camcorder itself which was listed as fully functioning. Just completely blatant and eBay of course did nothing. |

In my experience "scammer campers" are very few and far between....... Fortunately, this experimental interweb commerce has been mostly successful. People wheeling and dealing with product sight unseen has been epic for my part. Just tales a few clowns to throw a wrench in the works. Dont let them ruin it peeps. This hobby and the sales / trades everyday show how viae it still really is. Hang tough ! Cheers |
