There is nothing wrong with his discs, or his mailing. Shipping is best in business, discs are well, discs. They work or the dont. No issues there either. Just a miscommunication down the road somewhere. I think he is really trying

I have been watching movie after movie!!!! It is so painful, lol. I have actually had to pull a few back that were fine a few years ago which is sad. It is mostly older titles that were ok. What is going to be interesting is to see the ones that are always bad and mine werent as of 2009 - Last time I watched my copies of erasure and starship troopers. I have yet to see a good copy of copycat. I have watched the Craft and know for a fact my copy is good. Anyway, it is a learning experience.

You don't have to watch the entire movie to test it for rot.
Usually, the rot dots are noticeable at the beginning and at the end of each side.
This was true for all my rotted copies.

The first and last chapter of each side should be enough to check the movie.

true, i also do a little extra and try to skip through about 5-10 mintues until the disc is over.
the only disc i have when i bought it about 7 years ago was fine but now it's BAD Brian Eno: Thursday Afternoon (1984) [96LM-19]

That was my rule of thumb as well until I got hit by rot in the middle of 1 particular disc recently.
I'd never seen that before but it can happen with first and last ok but middle rotted. :(

I've never had a problem with him...

First time I bought from him was a few years ago, and literally 10 minutes after the purchase I received a call from him to let me know that one of the items wasn't available, and that he would discount shipping for me...

The next time I dealt with 'Da Don' was after I bought a mint X0 from Ricardo "tanks" Thomas and had some serious issues getting him to ship the player.
Duncan Hunter and I were regularly corresponding at the time and I found out that Ricardo was trying to get Duncan to perform a tray-swap on the two X0 units he had at the time so he could keep the better of the two and send me the substandard one. Da Don also got wind of Ricardo's tricks through Duncan and gave me a call to give me some very helpful pointers on what to do.

Basically, after leaving negative feedback, opening a case with PayPal and eBay per Da Don's suggestions, and also calling him out on what he was asking Duncan to do behind my back, I finally got the player in the condition I expected. :D

As a 'thanks for the help' gesture, I ordered a few more discs from Da Don's eBay site, and they came quickly and with excellent packaging. He's an OK guy in my book.

I agree, though he has been communicating with me, I have found I am ok without him. Shame though, he does have some stuff I want.

if you can't trust duncan then you shouldn't collect LDs or Players

Funny looking back at this thread! Glad I went on my own instincts and didn't rely on Duncan aka LDService!
