Beadsandcharms is the name on ebay who purposely sent me The Arrival (1996) in flimsy packaging that gave the laserdisc a 10% chance of getting broken in transit and it was broken cracked right though side 2 making the film totally unwatchable.

He mentioned in pm with me before it arrived LATE and kept blaming Royal Mail. Well it arrived late and broken and I wasn’t amused with his service. He mentioned he posted one to laserdisc to Norway that turned up broken and it doesn’t surprise me when its posted with one piece of thin cardboard on the back and brown wrapping paper one sheet just cheaply wrapped around it. Wow seems like the seller is trying to cut corners on postal costs thus giving his costumers total guarantee of arriving in 52 pieces when unwrapping the laserdisc.

I knew it was broken without having to unwrapping and the postman was witness to it.

Well all the kings’ horses and men can’t put that together again. :x

No excuse here.....
Totally unacceptable.
I hope you held this person to the fire and received your money back in full with the original shipping cost.
Thanks for the notice ....
Another one bites the dust.

I received from the USA a "Armaggeddon DTS" cracked like that too. Took some time to make the seller admit it was his poor packing skills... Eventually I got my money back.

I actually have a beautiful copy of Arrival, sealed, lol. I send my stuff out battleproof. I also have a beautiful copy opened. I am pretty anal about some things. That is one.

Yeah how hard can it be to buying the correct packing unless the seller wants to get negative feedback on their packing skills.
Of course I get the refund back and I guess ebay then went after this person to cough up.

That’s good film mix Armageddon I’m sure the dts Laserdisc would be cool listening fun for a few hours, only to turn up broken. Glad you also got the money back.

5 laserdiscs in packaged all broken I would be steaming mad and would want a half paint of blood.

There wasn’t any excuse for it your right. And as for the seller to keep blaming Royal Mail, what does this, person think I am stupid? Because I had the last laugh I got my money back and she got a negative feedback!!

I’m going to buy it again in my own good time the Pioneer special edition which doesn’t have the extras, extras on bluray and I thought that was the perfect format? Seems like I was misinformed!

Very glad you were recompensed.
Live and Learn doing business in cyberspace.
I always inquire and suggest helpful ways to ship with disc outside of the jacket in the politest way possible as some take offence at the notion that they may not know what they are doing.
Most sellers / dealers in my experience are more then agreeable and receptive to this type of request for safe transit.
Another red flag is any shifting within the package.
Precious cargo needs to be secure with no shifting present whether double boxing or not.
One will always remember above the fray dealers who take the extra time to ship properly.
Sad common sense does not prevail more often then not.......
Thank you for this needed to be mentioned thread.......

This rare Toyah laserdisc arrived with a crack so bad it penetrated both sides.

Someone had stuck a sharp object in the actual parcel and it had gone all the way through the parcel.

WTF !!!
How in Hades could something like that happen?
If not deliberate then what could have caused this.....
Never seen anything even close to that kind of trauma.
All things considered I would have to consider mayhem / skullduggery high on the list of possiblities here....
Hoping you were compensated for this issue....
Sad for the loss there !!!!

One thing I do is when I ship an expensive laserdisc - usually over 30 bucks. I use shipinsurance. It is pretty cool, on ebay it is 1 buck for anywhere in the world. Pretty good company. It looks like someone shot that that thing. That is nasty.

I was really disappointed when the Toyah laserdisc arrived in that state.
The disc actually played on the part before and after the crack and would have been in superb condition had this damage not been incurred.

It looked to me like someone had stuck a screwdriver or similiar such object directly in the parcel as there was a really visible puncture through the packaging.
This is the only disc I have ever received in this condition thankfully. Any other cracked LDs were more in the form of the Arrival disc posted above due to poor packaging.

It was shipped via Royal Mail and they did provide some compensation although nothing can compensate you for the loss of a rare disc.
I hate to see something that was looked after so carefully for almost 30 years get trashed indiscriminately like that.
