I received an email back from him saying that i'm not out anything as I didn't pay for repairs yet and that
he will send my player back.
That was over 3 weeks ago.

This whole thread is terribly sad. I've had nothing but good luck with Duncan, but that was almost 5 years ago.

I was one if the few who asked you guys to give him a little more time but I think he has had more than enough time to make up for this.

I will admit I am not at any loss nor he has any of my players. I have been in contact with him for about a year ( of course, long delays between emails) for him to sell me one of his "broken" "unrepaired" Theta Voyagers. I was willing to pay him a few hundred bucks on an unrepaired and not working Theta Voyager. So all he had to was take my money and ship the Theta as is and untouched. Sounds like easy money right? Well he kept me waiting and waiting, he couldn't even make this super easy deal happen. After this thread started, I figured he would finally go ahead with the sale since we know he is struggling for money and no one else will give him business. Well, you guessed it right, he still isn't helping himself. Obviously, at this point I can't trust the man anymore. After all, I haven't sent him anymoney, so I am not at any loss. I wanted to share this story if anyone can make sense out of this. My take is, he is done with this business.

We should probably discuss other options, not involving him meeting with other end of his deal.

Agree, I would personally like to keep these topics to the people who are dealing with him and not he foreign speculators.

When he did respond to my email he was furious and threatened to smash my player for talking about him and his wife.
good thing he is able to live with someone and stay off the radar so we can't really get in touch with him anymore.

Too bad, he has no income other than whatever he may get from a pension, but at any rate it will be gone faster than he can keep it....

So then, what is the point of having this topic anyway if anyone can read it?

From every eBay seller, Yahoo Japan seller all the way to a Nigerian Scammer we talk about it in the way of when we have purchased something and how to deal with it if is arrives doa, broken or not arrived at all.
At some point then one can be willing to share how things have turned out; settle, dispute, take legal step etc.

There is nothing more frustrating to read that just nothing happens over a very lengthy thread.
It is no use talking about how pity a seller, repairshop, refurbisher, storing facility, postal service is; business is business.

There are many foreign speculators in this forum, who may not have dealt with laserdiscservice.com, that posts all kinds of things that doesn't add or apply anything to the matters going on. I think rein-o is telling us that the thread originally belongs to those who are affected, but spectators outside have the ability to read the posts in the thread.

Sadly though, it has so far been a lengthy thread with no concluding end.

Yes, Thank you.
The point I want to make is that others who may try to send their players will have to read through others talking about
the speculation or other comments before they read the real comments from us who have been ripped off by him.

this topic is to keep others aware of what Duncan is doing and to try and keep the postings and speculators to a minimum or removed
as they don't help any with the posts here under this topic.
Thanks,

Duncan is just a sad story, its a shame that he went so low as to just forget all others and steal players etc.
I guess he's living the high life now.

Doubtful. From everything that I've read, I'm guessing that there's mental health issues here at work.

decades worth of frequent direct exposure to the chemicals involved in the manufacture, and, by extension, service,
of industrial and consumer electronics products does eventually take it's not-insignificant toll, it would seem...

Yeah, I don't think he's partying every day or probably any day. There aren't any winners in this saga.

Hello, all....I'm new to the forum. I stumbled upon it today while doing an online search and I'm only sorry I didn't even know about it till now. Unfortunately, I sent in my LD player for repair four months ago and I have not even heard a peep back from the gentleman I sent it to. Before I shipped it off, we exchanged several emails and at that time, he did explain it would be several months before he would even have the chance to look at it. And now that much time has passed, I have sent him several emails, asking about the current status. Sadly, there have been no replies and so, it now looks as though I'm in the same boat as all the others on this forum.
