A big "Tank You" to Colin for this interview, and all his dedication to the truth and respect. Colin, is not only probably the best Collector in the Wolrd, but also bought from me some rare Laserdiscs as mentioned and knows how i deal. And finanlly a no less big "Tank You" to Julien for giving the opportunity to move on and be part of this amazing group. |

For the record: I did not Quote: You created another account (retrogames) that will be deleted very soon. retro_games is still scheduled to be deleted, Ricardo just asked for an extension to close current transactions: Quote: All i ask is to hold at least my account for few days, as i am concluding transactions and i need to pay for some items i am combining and make sure the items reach me. When did you invent this opportunity again? I believe in actions more than words, and this has been suggested in the past to keep you true to your words so... Effective immediately, all your past feedbacks and transactions have been rolled back to your current account. This is only a (-9) status and 85% of feedbacks never left from your side. https://www.lddb.com/account/retro_games Attachment: The only way to show your true nature will be to simply act as an adult and actually pay for what you buy. Only 10 transactions will get you to the positive territory and everybody will be able to see clearly if you're a honest person or just a pathological liar. Julien |

Insightful interview. At least he seems more like a person after reading. Fair is fair, feedback should reflect ALL activity ....... Let him dig out of the hole he has dug... |

mmm...this interview and the good deals with Colin look like a trick to restore his honor because some may think if Colin (that is a respected LD collector everybody knows) has good words to say about him then he HAS to be a good guy to deal with in the end and the bad stories about him are just past to be forgotten related to one single episode. Unfortunately it is not just one single controversy about that broken Player...there are many stories about him (fake ID's, not completed sale, multiple accounts) and what Julien said is enough to have a portrait about his personality. |

I will chime in and state that I have sold dozens (maybe more than 100) discs to him over the last 6 months, and have had nothing but a good experience. He is demanding of quality and good packing, so I just pack his discs just as I would like for discs that I buy to be packed and I am accurate in my descriptions of condition (new/10 means "looks like it was manufactured yesterday", not "looks good for something that's 30 years old") and haven't had any issues. |

Duncan ran Bay View with nothing with the most high praise for DECADES before this guy even bought his first LD. Lots of people flake out. It happens to literally the best of us. I've been on a lot of forums in and I've seen this happen sooooooo many times. A good run for six months doesn't really mean anything. I know nothing of the guy whatsoever but I will say that I think there's something weird about people who binge and purge collections of things with thousands and thousands of dollars. You're bound to encounter shady weirdness with anyone who's finances are that spastic. I know all about hard times, believe me, but when someone goes from owning high dollar MUSE stuff to being so broke he's afraid to answer his email and then BACK to LD again...you're taking your chances with a guy like that on some level. |

I've personally purchased about 3000 euros worth of laserdisc merchandise from him and never had any issues. Only time will tell if Cararte can turn things around for himself. He is trying though since his feedback is now +1 instead of -9 just a week ago. |

Otherwise it would still be a -8. I'm still waiting to see Ricardo last more than 3~6 months before falling back to his usual games. Julien |

Just FYI, this guy apparently tried to buy my LD-S2 that was posted for sale here but did so in an underhanded fashion. He tried to get someone else in the US to buy it from me for him (long story that I will not go into). If he is so honest and trustworthy why not just message me about buying the player instead of hiding behind someone else? I had to stumble upon the info myself (the "proxy" he was using never told me it was for someone else and oops sent me a message that was meant for Ricardo which blew the lid off of the ruse). I cannot reveal more details of this without making serious accusations and revealing sources so I will leave it at that. I am not saying I would have been scammed but it is AWFULLY suspicious that he would try and use someone else to buy the player instead of talking directly to me. |

Don't give this con artist a podium. Other people will get burned. He sold me a broken player for 2000 euro (supposed to be a mint Macintosh MLD 7020) and I sent it back. He would take responsibility for repair, but never got it back or get my money refunded. When I filled a complain through PayPal he got really nasty and somehow convinced them that I was lying. He is a thief and that is not 'in the past'. He still owes me 2000 euro! Yes, he is a smooth talker. All con artists are. That's their trademark. |

Oh come on, there must be thousands of imported Mac LD players in Portugal! It could be anyone! Guy would really benefit from a more mainstream hobby to scam people with... |

I assume he couldn't pay the local repair guy so the dude kept it and is trying to recover his time spent fixing it. Or he needed €300, realized he still had the pictures laying it around from the last couple of times he sold it and decided to see if the cops would come this time. |
