The offer button is optional here. Most sellers seem to have it on but there are some that do not.

I believe this should be a seller’s option whether to display or not.

If this feature is implemented, I hope display is optional. As a seller, I don't see the point.

It already exists and it's called "Best Offer" here.

As I see it if a disc has been sitting in your shop forever then either there's no interest or it's overpriced.

All this represents is some additional information helping consumers make more informed choices.

The only reason I see sellers objecting to this is they have too many items in the latter category.

It's curious to see low posters suddenly appear in this topic.
I would be interested in knowing how many of the no voters are sellers :P

Would store operators have to go back in and list the dates, or can the dates be listed by Julian "flipping a switch" and the dates would appear?

Just saw this. As of right now the option is simply on. When you browse items currently it tells you the year and month it was added to that seller's shop.

Yes it was added per the topic posted in the first message of this thread, but not all sellers like the idea and I'm opening the discussion about it.

I don't see any shame/problem in showing the listing date personally, that's why I was surprised to see negative views on it.
The shop interface already provides a filter for items added in the past 30 days, should that be removed as well?

I could have titles in my collection -- I don't want to let go at a low price -- sitting around for a long time.
Or if I see a single LD available for a title I'm looking for... "has it been added recently or not" is a good information.

Titles that have been laying in the inventory for a long time give better reasons to submit a best offer.
Or should I make best offers possible per Shop Category or Per Item, not globally?
That would send the signal that some titles are negotiable, while others are not.

That's why I opened the thread, to gather ideas and opinions.

I think having best offer as an option per item is a great idea. Some could be more negotiable, others not.

Yes why not be able to set for the whole store or down to individual items? Sellers can then signal if they're up for negotiation on anything or just certain items. Some might like to set the "Best Offer" just for those that have been hanging around for a while!

Guess I wouldn't mind knowing the date an item was listed but prefer not to advertise that information to potential buyers. If the best offer option is enabled they can still make offers if desired.

Otherwise you are just going to see sellers removing their inventory and relisting it every month or so to make it look like fresh listings.

P.S. A counter offer option would be nice to enable actual negotiations.

to me, as occasional seller does not make important. leave or remove i even not noticed his existence

can be more sense for professional seller to help taking the stock low, but as ex-collector, the most important thing is at least get money back from original purchase. if not, they can stay within my collection forever, either from recent or from ancient age...

I can confirm this. I have had sellers counter offer me and bought things that way here.

Noobs who buy things for a crazy price the second they see it might want to know that that item wasn’t listed five minutes ago but actually five years before they even knew it existed. That’s the point of it.

I love how many sellers and single posters don’t want it. I’d assume anyone who is a smart buyer would feel exactly the opposite.

Definitely not!
- too much info already and no purpose, the price is the top priority, which can be changed regularly.
- "dust"? There is nothing stopping sellers deleting their item and reloading it again with a fresh date!
- I would like the red star showing new listing to be extended to three months, perhaps a color for listings the last month.
- the "Top 100 recently in shops" should be extended to 300 (also the top wish-list 500)
- the "$" shows availability, a red $-sign should show that there is only ONE copy available & a blue $ showing more than 10.

Does being a seller actually make you unable to see the point or do you very much see the point and realize it works against you?

Being able to disable display per item or per store might be a nice idea. I'm undecided on if the original posting date or the most recent modification to the listing is better - maybe both?

Being able to see these dates on the inventory list in my own store might be helpful too.

No! Why is it that someone makes a feature request on this forum, 4 guys like it and it changes without a discussion first? I've requested a way to have a sale in my shop years ago with repeated request and no action. Instead I need to make it more complicated by basing my sale on the current best offer system which makes it difficult for the buyer to buy. Users still can't make a best offer on their phone and I can't make a counter offer on my phone. Let's fix that first and not put in features that make most of your sellers upset. Iv'e been an advocate of LDDB since 2007 and I sell LDs exclusively on this site. I've sold about 9% of every LD sold on this site. Just saying that you might reach out and ask your dedicated shops about changes before you implement them.
Thanks,
Ron

This would be a great thing to implement. I actually paid the invoice I got from you today on my phone. I sent the offer before I headed out, so I was unaware of this issue.

I will add you are one of the best out there. Reasonable prices, willing to deal, items well packaged and quick to resolve any issues.
