I sell machines and I dont know if there is a big enough draw. Shipping is a crapshoot. Though it might be nice to see other stuff for sale.

I agree, there should be a hardware for sale section.

I would also like to see this happen on this site, as nearly everything else to do with Laserdisc can be found here.

Thank you for mentioning this aquanaut,

Indeed, as ebay is a huge crapshoot for anything LD hardware related. The equivalent of my local bought used 702 with some issues has been listed for many times what I paid for mine.
And rf demodulators cost a pretty penny there.

I swear I will leave some room in my code for hardware when I add the possibility to sell multi-formats.

Just having troubles to pack everything in 24h daily! :-)

I don't know about Canada, but in SE Michigan there are deals like that every other week on Craig's List. Its usually more like $100 than $600 though. In fact, there is a listing up right now from a guy selling two decks and 164 movies for $150.

The nice thing about buying stuff somewhat more locally is that you can inspect and test it yourself and you don't have to worry about breakage during shipping. Even well packed LD players can arrive dead.

but how did we all get players over the years???
it just means that you have to pack them as well as possible, mark the box like crazy and everything will be fine.

what happened is that the shippers don't ship as fragile of stuff anymore, no more large heavy electronics so you have to re-educate them again.

they can be sent without damage, it's not like they were babied when coming from japan??

We definitely need a "classified" category. Also, the post should auto-delete after 30 days. There is no benefit in having a bunch of old threads pointing to expired ebay listings.

Hello!

I setup a test LD Hardware for Sale / Trade sub-forum for Hardware.

http://forum.lddb.com/viewforum.php?f=43

This is a PRUNING category: when a post sees no activity for 7 days, it will auto-delete.
