As i mentioned in my intro, Im pretty new at this and ive been looking around at stores etc for old ld's without much success,, Dont' get me wrong I did stumble onto some PAL discs, but sadly my player is NTSC only. I chose NTSC over PAL for a few reasons, Yes its true PAL does have a higher line count, but NTSC has a much bigger range of movies,, PLUS NTSC also has the multiple soundtracks. What ive noticed mostly is that when you see the Australian Classification board ratings on them you know for sure they are PAL.. Luckily I wasn't alone in realising the benefits of NTSC over PAL when it comes to laserdiscs and ive found a few stores on EBAY that are local and over cheap postage... See that's the kicker,, the discs are mostly cheaper in the USA but sadly the postage to get them here is very expensive as they are a delicate, large and heavy item. If anyone who lives in Melbourne reads this id really like to pick up some more movies and ive searched places like Brunswick street and chapel st. Maybe you could offer some more suggestions... Ok i know this question is very territorial,, but you never know your luck. |

At least you're in a metropolitan centre. I live out in regional NSW and have less than nothing available locally. However I must say that everything I've bought through eBay from Australian sellers has usually been of a high quality and packed sufficiently to avoid damage. |

I've been there, done that. Best way to get LaserDiscs is eBay. Shipping is the killer though. |

How have your experiences been? If I do ever get some from across the great divide is it better to purchase in bulk or just a few singles? |
