I Have some LD's that are 6.1 EX but the signal is saying 5.1 instead of EX

Can anyone explain ?

Dolby hadn't implemented the code to tell the receiver to switch to EX when the discs were made, so you must do it manually. The first DVD's with EX were the same and Dolby had to change the activation code once since it caused problems in some decoders.
