Been collecting for many many years now and just yesterday I found my first problem playing The Ghost and the Darkness with DD sound.
At about 21m. 22sec (side A playback) the AC-3 lock is lost for half a second. Disc is clean and shiny btw.
Tried several other demodulators only to find the same problem. I guess it could be a manufacturing flaw?
Did anyone notice this issue on this particular title? or other titles?
Never before had this issue with any laserdisc I own.

Tha AC-3 signal is stored at 2.88 MHz and if there is a burst of noise at that area of the spectrum on the disc or a defect that causes the 2.88 MHz carrier to drop momentarily, that could cause the dropout or the demodulator to lose lock. The fact that it does it with other demodulators says its a disc issue and with LaserDisc, no type of defect is unheard of.
