So I've recently tried out of curiosity the logic 7 decoding that my H/K avr 235 has for the first time and boy oh boy, was I in for a surprise. I've literally been quite blown away by how it performs on dolby surround LaserDiscs, especially for the surrounds effect. Sometimes, it almost sounded like a 5.1 source was being played. Dolby PLIIx has great stereo but not so much surround effects in my opinion, and DTS Neo:6 has quite better surround compared to PLIIx but the front sounds kinda muffled. Logic 7 here, even though the front doesn't sound as punchy as in PLIIx, it still sound better than Neo:6 and literally explodes both of them when it comes to surround effects. |

I prefer the Neo 6 Cinema mode. I’ve had fewer examples of stray weirdness whereas Logic 7 just kinda works too hard. I also have a 235. |
