which has the superior soundtrack recording?

I haven't been able to test but I have a copy of Casper DTS LD and a BD that DTS-MA, I don't have a DVD copy so I don't know if that has DTS or not but the movies that do have DTS like JP and the like and AC-3 like A Little Princess, are the laserdisc the best option sound wise?

BD is capable of much higher quality audio.

Totally depends. There's a lot of DVD, Blu Ray and UHD stuff out there that is absolute muck because it's been messed about with or the sound engineer had a nervous breakdown while mastering it.

There's a few LD's out there that are absolute squib as well so don't be fooled that LD is the chief justice and supreme ayatollah of formats.

Good example is the 6 disc UHD set of Apocalypse Now. I bought that last year and the new 7.1 track sounds like an 8756.5.87.9.512.487.32989786783264876432.898093278749874 track. Even on my Yamaha soundbar setup. The sound on that would cripple the foundations of your gaf!!!
