Sorry I can't answer your question, but just wanted to say Menace II Society is a brilliant film. I haven't seen it since I rented it out on VHS when it was first released. Now you've triggered me to go buy it and watch it again!

I've just received this Criterion LD and to my surprise, the movie is not closed captioned. Backcover has the close caption subtitles sign, but when I play the movie nothing appears. I have many close captioned LDs and never had any problem playing them, so I doubt it has something to do with my viewing device. Does anyone remember or know if this Criterion disc is really close captioned? |

I got this one as well and it has no CC. Most of the criterions have no cc, I never understood why, since they were so high end. |
