So what’s different about the Criterion version of this movie other than it being letterbox? Do we know for sure that Crimes & Misdemeanors (1989) [ID7361OR] is P&S and not open matte?

I’m assuming the JP version is the same transfer as the US one but has anyone seen it?

IMDb says "Panavision 1.85:1 spherical 35mm"

Would tend to say that the 1.85:1 is the intended ratio and that it would be P&S and not Open Matte.
