Interesting, a company released a bluray/dvd box set a few years ago with some great versions.
Think it was the legacy collection?

Wonder what Criterion thinks they can do better other than make it cheaper or more expensive.

Edit: Just read their site, they have Enter the Dragon so that may be a selling point.
But how many times can we buy the same films over again?

For me the totality of what Criterion does makes it worth it. People that just want to watch the movies? Yeah they can stream online or buy some cheapo walmart dollar special multi-pack. I get why that is appealing for most people.

I would expect the transfers to be a lot better than what we've gotten in the past. Original sound mixes too.

Weren't his films originally shot and mixed with Mandarin Chinese and the Cantonese audio was actually mixed in the late 70s?

That Legacy collection was a Shout and had multiple audio versions of films minus Enter the Dragon.

So that may be the only reason to get this? and that its criterion.

Those shout versions had multiple audio on most of the films.
I doubt there is anything more anybody can talk about Bruce even now, we've heard it all unless they have some ginkgo pop of memory that they forgot about.

On another note, I haven't been paying much attention but does this mean they will finally get the WB films again to release
proper versions of other WB films?

I still have the ancient UK DVDs from Hong Kong Legends. Until they got the masters for Big Boss and Fist of Fury from Fortune Star for their special editions, their transfers were pretty naff but they were an absolute treasure trove of bonus features so I think I've definitely had my fill of Bruce Lee trivia and Criterion is gonna have to pull some strings to do better on that front.

Unless you are being sarcastic I totally agree, don't know which DVDs I have now but the US LDs had a fine image and these DVDs I replace have a fine image.

Lets not forget, Bruce was very charismatic and amazing capture in time of martial arts but these films are pretty bad to say the least.
Only real reason to watch are for the choreographed fight scenes and that's it, there are better stories and character development in anime films...
