Hello. This is one of the discs I'm most curious about. I have some questions: 1. How did we learn the name and reference number (HDP-2440) of this disc? 2. Why is the country Japan? Shouldn't it be American or Dutch made? About disc: Philips Research Grand Alliance Digital HDTV [HDP-2440]

If it was a European only venture by Philips then most probably pressed at the PDO UK rot specialist plant at Blackburn I know, but in the country section, the country of the company that makes it is usually written. What I'm really curious about is the disc's name and reference code. In which document etc. name found?

It was a listing on eBay. HDVS Demo disc on eBayUnfortunately sold just a little before I had fixed my HDL-2000... Julien had Japan as the only selectable region for HDVS discs because it was thought for many years that the discs were mainly designed for Japan. ...Until I found a few discs specifically made for the west and proved it to him. A lot of (re)discoveries happened in the world of HDVS Disc in the last few years. We've been busy!

Unfortunately, there is no backup on the Wayback Machine

Any country could be selected, there is no restriction by sub-LD format. It was just a guess on HDVS, feel free to update if needed. Julien
