This card could acquire native MUSE 1080+i signal at high bitrate? Julien |

But it consistently crashes my computer (even though I carefully selected a motherboard listed as compatible), so I'm going to try to return it to the seller. Anytime you have to resynchronize your RAID array, something is wrong. |

This is an amazing capture card, but it can be picky. Haven't tried high-definition analog capture with it since I don't own a MUSE decoder, yet. Although it does perform extremely well with regular capture. So far laserdisc is the only analog source I've been able to capture with it. VHS has a lot of blackouts for some reason and old video game consoles and computers is out of the question. Had issues with the software, it would crash if I selected the wrong capture source and get jinxed until I completely removed the program and any stored settings. I use VirtualDub to capture the raw video and then process it with AviSynth. At least the blackout thing is a known problem, but BlackMagic Design does nothing about it. Hope you manage to sort things out, would be cool to see some captured footage. |

If you want to do VHS, I'd suggest running it through a frame-synchronizer first, to clean up the timing. Why it was glitching (recognizing only about one frame out of 3) on MUSE I don't know, because there is an option specifically for 1080160 (as opposed to 59.94), which is correct for NHK Hi-Vision. |
