I just imported my first VHD player; a Victor HD-9500.

Mechanically it seems to be working fine; it loads, plays, and ejects the disc without issue.

However, I have a problem with the composite video out. Depending on which display I connect; I either get a completely black and white picture; or bands of weak intermittent color. Might be the same issue as this user reported.

I have tried replacing the cartridge with a brand new one; that didn't help.

I'm guessing the chroma signal is screwed up somewhere. But where? I found two electrolytic capacitors that the video signal passes through near the output; and replaced these. That didn't help either.

Does anyone have any further debugging tips for this player? A service manual or schematic?
