so I have looked at this before am now trying to figure out competely what's wrong with it. the buttons don't work, doesn't take a disc and the stylus is stationary. I wonder if now there might be a transit screw that I don't know about preventing some things or maybe a dead motor or so gears not greased.

I suppose I need some lubricant for the gears but the belts are tight so I don't think that would be an issue . there is a noise so maybe the motor works. Wish there were some english sites or somebody could help to get this repaired. I hate to get rid of it since I wasted shipping on the thing and it powers on.

Wish I could help, I would just try to start with simple stuff and look at the LD repair guides, belts aren't an issue to me at this point if you can't get any other functions to work yet.

I would look at ribbon cables or even stuck motors where the gears are.

Also was this working when you got it or was it one of those listed as junk players from Japan?

Ah so then if it was working I would look for capacitors or loose ribbon cables or even any wire connectors that may be loose or need to be taken off cleaned
with contact cleaner then put back on.

That's where I would start.

got as far as this so
it must have been the transit screw which was never tighthent but now once I undid that I get the noise but the door doesn't open nor does eject work.

At least my National DP-350 works even though that was listed as junk.

Deoxit for contact cleaner, I know some have said the white lithium grease you can get that at hardware and I think I've seen it at wallyworld.

Some have also said to use other but I can't remember.
Make sure you get that old grease off if you think that's the issue.

After talking to a friend I guess I am getting rid of it since I've had it since Lexington and there could be something more wrong with it since the eject doesn't work. I have the other one smaller one so I am fine.

Hope you can recoup some money and sell it as parts on ebay or to someone who can use parts.
