Hi!

Today a Victor HD-9500 arrived from Japan! Really interesting piece of technology. The player is in good shape. Don't have the remote for it at the moment, but it is on the way since I got it seperately. Currently only have 4 titles:
First Blood (1982) [VHP78128]
Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syd (1983) [V3D-107~8]
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) [VHP78084]
Streethawk (1985) [VHP78204]

I'm thinking of getting the 3D titles for this system, or other oddities like promo videos and such. Currently dom't have the 3D goggles, but hopefully I'll find a pair soon. :) Probably not too much worth collecting on this format, I assume it doesn't have many exclusive releases.

How prone are discs to damage or general wear? Everything seems to play just fine, except the Metalstorm discs. They can have some occasional distortion. Not really a problem as it passes within a second and isn't very frequent.

I haven't really done much with VHD only bought Blade Runner. I would like to get a player someday. did you get a good deal on it?

I'd say it was a fair deal considering it is in good nick and working condition. Not the deal of a lifetime, but still okay. Were supposed to get a Japanese Betamax player, but this VHD player showed up. Not too often they show up in good nick and working condition. Took the chance while it were available. I do like this player, really fascinating stuff.

Congrats. I keep telling myself I want a VHD player, though the only time I've seen one for sale, it was going for more than I was comfortable with spending.

Yes, the player is the expensive part. The stuff that goes with it is fairly cheap, though!

Got some more 3D titles and a set of goggles a couple of days ago.

Congratulations on your VHD equipment. I fell in love with that player immediately. Looks very cool with its design and the Japanese writing on it.

Makes me want to join the VHD world as well. :)
