I ordered a National DiscLord DP-330 from Japan, and I live in the US. When I turn it on, the red indicator light turns on and the platter moves a tiny bit, but nothing else happens. If I plug something else into the back, it is powered properly. I have connected the player to my TV via AV and RF, but it only shows an all-green screen. Does anyone know what's wrong with it?

I have no knowledge with these players, wonder if there is a transit screw?
Does this need the step down voltage converter?? From 110 to 100.

That power in the back doesn't really mean the player is getting correct power, I think its like a bypass, I have that on my Carver amp.

Hi,

First, do you have any VHDs to test with? That's about the same model player I have, and it shows a green screen when there is no disc inserted (i.e., when there's no spine inside to tell the player a disc is inserted). When there's a disc in there, the screen will change to a blue back-drop with a "--1--" or "--2--" in the upper righthand corner, depending on which side you put in.

It doesn't really matter if you plug your player into a US outlet, since the voltages only differ by 10-20V (although, I use a 100V step-down transformer for longevity of the power supply).

RF wouldn't work unless its turn to a specific channel which I forgot since the TVs aren't the same RF wise.
