When I was still actively collecting DVHS Home Theatre tapes I was asking questions like this to myself often... "Why isn't this title out... when this other title is out that I dont like at all, etc..." With DVHS you have an alternative though: You could record Blade Runner onto a DVHS tape and pretend its an original Alternatively buy the HD-DVD which has an excellent picture quality. My all-time fave DVHS tape was Lost in Translation. When the HD-DVD came out back in the day, I made up my mind to sell all my DVHS stuff. Good old days ;_; |

Warner Bros owns the rights to Blade Runner right? Did they even support the D-Theater format at all? I thought it was mostly Fox putting out the most titles for D-Theater. |

The rights to that film were tied up for a very long time in a dispute with Sir Run Run Shaw. |

The only major studios that supported D-Theater D-VHS was 20 Century Fox, Universal, Dreamworks and Artisan (Lions Gate). Support from also JVC Victor. Made to order, but there was also HDNet / magnolia pictures but they supported D-VHS not D-theater a few micro companies supported D-VHS. |

There's a small bundle of D-VHS D-Theater tapes going for so, so small prices on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Ava ... 3D1&_rdc=1 This format was really aimed for Japan and USA it hardly saw the light in the UK. Guess the only way is to buy an imported model player deck, and some D-VHS tapes but something tells me I'll be seeing the same colour balance good on a few and lousy on the rest same as HD-DVD/Bluray unless some is selling a player for £40.00 plus shipping £40.00 from the US Wasn't this also the answer to VHS own HD format and isn't regular a now dead format or retired format? I haven't seen a VHS tape for sale in HMV for at least 5 or more years. I looked all though eBay list and didn't see Blade Runner or ALIEN I know there's an ALIEN D-VHS wasn't aware if Blade Runner got a D-VHS release? Quote: Fox was set to release "Alien Vs Predator" on D-VHS the same day it released "I, Robot" on D-VHS and claimed the title to be available on their retailer site. The title never appeared on store shelves and was eventually taken down from Fox's site as a D-VHS release. It is unclear why the title was never released and if any copies were produced or made it out to the public. If copies do exist it would be the rarest D-VHS title.
