I swore I'd never get into VHS again but after getting a good deal on a decent deck and watching the old tapes I had I really enjoyed the picture and HiFi stereo sound. So I started building a small collection of Japanese music stuff..Also I've started becoming more aware of VHS exclusive content. Stuff like the Minako Honda (of which I'm a huge fan, 4th tape from right) in L.A. is great because it's not available on any other format.

JPOP girls are always so cute aren't they Forper?

I'll post my collection when I get it out of storage. If I can find Mortal Thoughts that I have on Video 8 I'll include it and maybe some betas also. DVHS will be shown I hope but I might have misplaced my Alien and HD Video demo DVHS copies.

VHS is terrible. I have like 10 that I care about, maybe. It may be like three. I have zero romance for this format, although I do have to admit even VHS is less annoying streaming often is.

Perfect post.

The number of things I have to have to VHS is less than 10 myself. For a few I have I am just waiting until the LD comes up for sale and then I will immediately get rid of the tapes.

I got a thing and nostalgia for '80s and '90s girls in general. Singers like Minako Honda and Youki Kudoh have got a real "ugly cute" thing I can't get over..Super models have always been boring to me..

Akina Nakamori I just have there for the songs, not my type, Hinano Yoshikawa, just for the looks and the memories..

Musicvideos
Little Earthquakes - Tori Amos
Video's of Talk Talk*
Some docus about artists and musicians
A few local documentaries of Public Transport in Rotterdam.
I'd like to find the "Howard Jones in Japan" VHS one day.

I have these titles as they can (or could at the time) only be found on this format, Betamax or V2000, but otherwise i would search for the laserdisc, dvd, or bluray any day. (*Talk Talk is available on a CD + DVD since .. years)
Other genres like Movies are of no interest at all to me as i would download or rent those and in better quality than VHS.
In the 90's i and my brother rented videos in the weekends and watched those on a 14" mono CRT.
That 'nostalgia' of VHS can stay in the 90's imho.

I've got a S-VHS recorder of JVC that i only use to capture material from art school from the 90's and some things i come across.
And D8 and MiniDV Camcorder for capturing those formats incl. Video8 and Hi8.
U Matic SP tapes i have i don't have a recorder for but taped over those to S-VHS or VHS back then.

The handful of S-VHS and W-VHS releases could be nice to collect as the format though, D theater D-VHS to some extent.
