Post subject:  Looking forward to getting my first player.
I've just won a near new Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive and can't wait to use it.

I watched Children of Men on BD the other night and wasn't impressed. I was wondering if it is one of those discs that was a basic copy of the original HD-DVD. If so, I might look at getting it on its original format.

I got the drive and set it up last night. The first thing I noticed was how much quicker at loading it is compared with BD. Usually I'll throw in a Blu and then get headphones plugged in and ready while the menu loads, perhaps even a refreshing beverage. HD-DVD was ready before I was.

I'm a high school teacher and struggle to find time to play any games during the term. Holidays however provide some time. Last hols I finished the single player campaign on Halo 3. Not big into multiplayer stuff. Partly because I've always lived in a regional area where the Internet isn't as fast as metro. Partly because I'm antisocial and prefer to work alone. However if I ever do get into multi I'll look you up.

I don't have many 360 games or HD-DVDs. Any recommendations?

Can not help in the HD-DVD department.

However, regarding X-Box 360 games......
If your into Sci-Fi Dead Space I and II are quite epic !
Dead Space III ETA is sometime in 2013.
Most excellent stories and very original realistic weapons.
A third person adventure of sublime proportions !!!
Dead Space II multi player is already a cult classic among 360 gamers !
Check it out.
Also Mass Effect I,II.& III are also highly advised to dive into.
Resident Evil, the Modern Warfare series, and both versions of Bio-Shock are personnel favorites as well.
