Whats maybe a little bit disturbing: HD-DVDs from Warner seem to die after a while..at least some of them are getting unplayable..worse than laserrot, imagine HD-DVD would have won, it would have been a disaster realizing that your discs are dying after a few years.
So far a couple of discs have been reported as dead (Blood Diamond, Blade Runner, Wild Bunch...), have some of you excperienced this yet ?

Maybe this is all a giant conspiracy by SONY and they somehow managed to
smuggle the old DADC USA laserrot glue into the Warner HD-DVD factory to
ruin the "red discs" forever.

Surely would make a nice sf movie

The way I look at it, is a dead format to collect, but a format that happens to be up to par with current technology if that makes sense. Meaning you collect lasers (Which I do obviously) and you can only collect titles from a certain point, and it's in an older format/resolution etc. 1080p is still the norm (for now) so that's the way I look at it, and yes a majority of the titles are cheap, but when you get deep like me (and probably a lot of you) the uncommon stuff start's the get a little dangerous ;)
