Does anyone know of software that can do this? I've been trying to burn to HD DVD, which I was able to get one done but it doesn't play, player doesn't recognize the disc. I used DVD Studio Pro 4 which puts it in the proper HVDVD_TS files, the problem I'm having in my older Powermac G5 which runs the software doesn't recognize the disc (before it's burned). It will just spin and spin as soon as it's entered and never get started. So I just encoded the final output to a .img file and with my newer mac mini used the HD DVD burner with Roxio Toast 11 burned the data to it. Unfortunately it won't load up in the XA2, I can play the files ok when I load the disc back up in computer, actually the final MPEG 2 encoding is quite nice, with 5.1 audio, just can't get it to burn correctly. Of course this is on a Mac. It's really difficult to find software to do this because I keep finding info on burning hd to DVD, which I don't want. I want to burn to HD DVD-R, there's just too many references to hd on DVD. DVD Studio Pro 4.0 does all the final encoding and it even has settings for blue laser and single or dual layer, 15/30 GB, so I know the software should work and my final output looks correct as I've compared the files to a few studio discs, I just can't get the burner to work with my older computer, strange it seems to work fine on the newer one, but I can't get the older software to work on the newer machine. I'm thinking it needs a driver but I can't find any place that has them now. I'm so close, just can't get this final problem solved. |

Ok, I think my software just isn't going to work for this. I found another program that should work but I'm going to need to put this project on hold until I can get a PC and the software, hoping to get an HD DVD burned, that's playable. |

I tivo'ed Titan A.E from HBO family last night. It looks terrific in 1080i and dolby digital 5.1 sounded pretty good. Its just under 15gb so its perfect for an hddvd project. Titan cover art with red hddvd case looks much better anyway. There is a dvd release with dts soundtrack it might be possible to use that instead. |

I recall burning a few HD ts TV episodes onto DVD-R for playback on HD-DVD players. I know it's possible. But have only done it once. What the difference with the media it's burnt on? I think I have some blank HD DVD-R and a recorded somewhere but don't recall ever using it. |

Anyone know if it would technically be possible to hack an LG Hddvd Combo Bluray burner into burning hddvd's as well? (Since it can burn blu rays that uses the same high output violet laser like hddvd). |
