Just arrived this morning in the mail. "Cold fish" HD-DVD BLADE RUNNER (1982) Six-Track Dolby Stereo Digital Plus TrueHD / Lucasflm Ltd THX Sound System. I've been after this pressing for a while. I have the tin box DVD 5 disc region 2, but wanted the HD-DVD I could have bought the bluray but too costly for the same film. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Turn the ON the HD-DVD player and get ready to load the disc. I like the International version that is I believe similar to the Criterion Collection laserdisc and I'd like to get that pressing one day? So its only Dolby Digital Plus on theatrical and International. I'm still pleased with it. The Dolby TrueHD on "the final cut". Can't think I plated that version on the tin DVD box set? I watched the extras already. The end credits way cooler with the helicopter flying over the shining mountains Only the L/R fronts and stereo surrounds are playing though the end credits. In Dolby Stereo matrix, it would play over LCRS with sub bass extension. Waterfall of part of the end credits monitored though THX sound system on (MIX). The aura ast-2b-4 pro bass shaker vibrate seats with some bass mid coming off the stage channels, At around the last 33 seconds of the end credits the surrounds fade to mute leaving only the L/R stage channels playing the last few seconds. Wonderful Dolby Stereo mix by the UK team at Twickenham and Pinewood studios. The fancy pants version of this with the box and model Spinner and all that was the only HDDVD I had time to buy before it was discontinued. I saw Final Cut in a nice theater. It's quite cool. The HDDVD is also really great, but I haven't watched it in years since I don't have a player. I'd love to swap for a BR version. |

The 30th Anniv only has dts-hdma on the Workprint. Everything else is the same as the HD-DVD and BD port. They should have upgraded the video and audio for everything but at least it's a cheap ($13) upgrade. I only had the UCE DVD Briefcase beforehand in addition to my LDs. |

Good afternoon Guys, I also purchased this 5 Disc Set from an eBay seller who received two of these box sets from amazon, and when he asked about this Amazon said don't worry and keep the second set free of charge. Cost me £10 to 15 sealed, I said are you sure and he reply yes and thanked me for my custom. I think this retailed at the time for around £30 to 35. Bargains always come along like this. Sincere Regards P.S. Well done laserbite34 |

The HD-DVD is tricky at times. Smallest bit of dirt or grime and fingerprint you name it, it will have playback issues. I haven't gone though the whole box set just went for the (Intentional USA) edition. Bit disappointed that disc 3 isn't Dolby TrueHD but rather Dolby Digital. |
