I've been running an HD-A3 for a while now, but picked up an HD-A30 from shopgoodwill.com recently. When it arrived, the disc tray would not eject. Luckily they refunded me without having to return it. Does anyone know if the drive unit is the same between these two? Can I swap the working drive from my HD-A3 into the A30 and be good to go? Thanks in advance. |

Only way to know for sure would be to open both units up and compare them. I'm sure it will be quite obvious once you see how they are set-up. |

You could also just open it up and see what might be causing the tray to not open. Might be a slipping belt or broken gear which might be easy to fix (provided you can find the replacement.) |

I have a feeling the drive itself is a self-contained unit without any replacement parts available. I'll open them up eventually, but thought I'd see if anyone else has had one/both open and already compared. |
