After 1.5 years of good service the R210 I'm leasing for 47.83 € MRC (dual core, 4GB RAM, 1TB RAID) will be retired and replaced with the R210 II for 35.87 € MRC (quad core, 8GB RAM, 1TB RAID). The transition should (hopefully) be smooth with minimum downtime over one week-end. As always, feel free to make a small contribution to help pay for the monthly hosting costs if you think LDDb.com was useful to you in any way. Heavy week-end ahead! Julien |

Good afternoon Julien, Thank you for your reply sir' Just one more question of concern, Do some of the members help with cost's for this website? To be honest I think many people such as myself wouldn't realize how much it cost's to run a website. Could I be so bold as to ask how much this is, and that way more people would be aware, and hopefully would be willing to help you. I must be honest and mention that, funds have been very tight for myself personally and so this limits what I can give to show thanks in the way of a donation. At today's rate, the new server will cost ~31 GBP (~ 47 USD) versus the current ~41 GBP (~63 USD) monthly. Yearly costs will decrease by 25% from $760 to $560. http://www.lddb.com/hosting.php Julien |

When I am in a position to give say £5 a month how would you like myself to send the funds? Could you please send this in a pm and then I will keep you informed of when I can begin. LDDb migration has started! I'm actually posting this from the new server forum (the new IP for forum.lddb.com already propagated) but I can't test ldd.com yet as it is still pointing to the old address with a "under maintenance" notice. Everything should be back to normal within the next 2 hours or so. I took the migration opportunity to tune the backup, make spamassassin learn spam from ham more dynamically, add a private family cloud for sharing things securely, remove from syslog unneeded outputs, and I must at some point leave GnuTLS towards OpenSSL and add a certificat to LDDb.com so that passwords are not sent in the clear. Migration completed! Do no hesitate to report bugs, weird behaviors or things that worked differently before. The software is the same but the underlying applications (Apache2, PHP, MySQL) were all upgraded to more recent versions and might bring some growing pain on the way. Julien |
