So, I've been trying to think about what the best way to organize this forum might be. In the first place, I think there needs to be a great deal of attention given to the "feedback forum" portion. In addition to comments about the forum itself, this would include comments on the LDDb.com user interface ; ideas for new features or changes in existing ones ; possibly requests for account support ; possibly discussions from time to time about individual shop transactions or buyers/sellers, although that can get very touchy. I think there's also value in having some specialized areas. One for "technical aspects", for example, covering anything from theory to disc mastering & pressing to player modifications, and another just for Hi-Vision/MUSE/HDVS related topics (hardware, software, history, &c). Others might be based around specific interests which overlap LD collecting strongly, such as anime, or music videos, or Criterion & other special editions. |

I agree, one forum should be about the LDDB itself - usage, interface, feature requests, etc. (maybe some deserve subforums). Also like the idea of forums for specific genres. Definitely want some hardware forums - perhaps one for player discussions in general, and another for troubleshooting / repair - and maybe one for buying / selling / trading players. - Mark |

I just need days of 48h packed in 24h. That would be great! Anyway, did a first pass at creating some common/generals forums. We'll see if they prove useful or if some splitting/merging will eventually take place. Julien PS: Merry Xmas! |
