Thanks for all the updates. Haven't been able to get on to this forum much since I upgraded to the current Mac systeme El Capitan but seems to be working now for some reason.

Hmmmm How a change of OS would block you from reading the forum exactly?
It's only a website like any other.

Since Adobe Flash is going to be fully extinct soon, my little iCover App will have to follow the same path.
I tried to find HTML5/CSS/Javascript only similar coverflows but they just don't look very good and are visually very slow.

Trying a totally different approach by customizing this online example.

It could look like this:

The controls are a little jumpy with too many scrolling but I'm trying to tune it to my taste.

This looks great. One of my most desired features of LDDB is to be able to look through my catalog of 1600 discs by cover. iCover is ok for 10 or 20 titles but anything above that it doesn't work well. Would love to see this upgrade!

What are the chances that an LDDB phone app could be created? I'd love to see that on my phone.

Julien,

I've bought (and added to my collection) a number of Japanese LD releases that the mint-o-matic was un-able to determine who the manufacturer was but I entered in the manufacturer as Pioneer Japan when the jacket listed the manufacturer as Universal Pioneer, Pioneer Disc Corporation of Japan, Pioneer LDC, Warner-Pioneer, etc. This holds true of the Japanese equivilents of Magnetic Video titles, early Warner Home Video titles, etc., such as:

MP150-25GA-A04 96120317
MP150-25GA-B05 96122359

FY135-35MG-A04 7G250277
FY135-35MG-B04 7G250168
FY135-35MG-C03 6G200019
KAME-1-A55 6G210013

EHL-1060-A02 4I100272
EHL-1060-B02 4I100203

Or other publishers where the jacket identifies the manufacturer as Pioneer Disc Corporation of Japan or Pioneer LDC such as:

WL68-004-A01 9G132481
DD-2-A07 9G131639

Interesting, I didn't think of adding some patterns where the reference number is used as the master ID for pressing.

I'll try to update it ASAP.

The DD and KAME give it away that it's LDC/Pioneer but it only works if the title has a dead side and that the dead side markings are provided.

I have a question about wishlists and bids on condition etc.

Do these go away when peoples accounts have been deleted or are we stuck with an opened ended wishlist and bids making a false market???
Thanks,

That was updated earlier in this topic.

Quote:
A. Wishlist will not expire anymore, they can either be "Active" (forever, as long as the account isn't delete from lack of activity) and receive notifications or "Private" and be used only for tracking/comments/historical purpose.
Notifications will only offer you to turn a Wishlist private to stop receiving notifications about it.

The "Wishes" will disappear only when the account is deleted.

A few mores boxset releases with full content pictures, quite nice!

Or simply the disc labels:

Slightly updated the matching patterns with the following results, tell me if you get better results!

The imdb open search is neat but is it possible to limit that search per format? I was curious which actor appeared most on CED. It would also be neat to be able to see which actor, director, composer most appears in my collection.

Technically it's possible, but that would require importing a lot of IMDb information and rebuild a local IMDb for that purpose.

But IMDb licensing prohibits this. You can't use IMDb reference (tt0000000) as you key index database.
You can't retain/export/archive section of IMDb, etc.

I could do it but that would be going rogue...

I've been trying to straighten out the CEDs in the database, filling in blanks and correcting things that are wrong. How long does it take for these updates to take effect? Is there something I can do to help it go faster? Can CEDs take advantage of the new back cover feature?

Hello!

I came back from vacation and 600+ CED updates were waiting for me... :-)
Now down to 120, I'm reaching the end of it.

Sure!

The default covers from CEDMagic website will take you directly there but if you submit a better cover (or even better: both sides) they will be updated with better ones.
