Sweden at #4 ain't bad for a country that never got Laserdisc. :)

Then why does the manual for my player come with instructions in Swedish?

While some players did indeed get official distribution in Sweden, no films were ever really released.

There were indeed very few pan-European releases for the Nordic market, including Swedish teletext subtitles:

This was kind of what I thought might be the case; there was no official domestic distribution for movies, but there was enough people importing titles for both personal use and resale that domestic sales of the players for consumers must've been seen as economically feasible.

Unlike in Finland where to my knowledge they were sold only for business use, hence all the karaoke machines floating about.

Another quick-win: Chosen - jQuery

This turns select/combo box inputs into something more user friendly when the number of choices goes beyond 15.

Also working on updating the past sales graphs....

I'll let you guess which one is the old or the new one ;-)

Make a quick-win (in regards to amount of coding) to add Criterion collection links and covers.

=> Linking Criterion.com website releases?

I don't have the full IMDb <-> Criterion database but I will update as I go.

It will show like this:

Silence of the Lambs, The: Special Edition #192 (1991) [CC1344L]

It doesn't hurt if there's also an Intrada release advertised:

RoboCop #311 (1987) (Uncut) [CC1463L]

Added bonus: it will be easy to compile a list of Criterion LDs not available on DVD/BD or the list of movies that didn't get a Criterion LD but for a DVD/BD release.

Hi,

Maybe a silly question, but wouldn't it be nice to add an option in the LD section to select the type of dead side on a disc?

Like "Turtle", "Mirror", "Spray", "Program Material..." and others.

You can extract this list pretty easily from Wikipedia's "List of Criterion Collection releases".

so which is the spray one?

Post subject:  Re: Some changes coming to LDDb.com

I thought "spray" meant the old Discovision dead side that just has glue sprayed over it to make it unplayable.

What I wanna know is, what does "mirror" mean?

Post subject:  Re: Some changes coming to LDDb.com

Flippy is the only acceptable deadside.

I never knew that about Disco.

I think Mirrored is about the same as unplayable with a mirror type finish.
