Hello Captions lovers!

I'm trying to harvest the little there is to find about these (mostly obsoleted) CC, Teletext and Asian (with cartridges) caption decoders.

Current list is: https://www.lddb.com/list.php?device=caption&max=250&sort=brand

The Forum has bits and pieces all over:

Types of Closed Caption?
Melovision
CC decoder
Laserdisc Closed Caption Help Needed
Help with choice of closed caption decoder
Closed Captions decoder
Best way to display CC subs, teletext etc?

I added a few obscure ones that find very little on Google but were mentioned here before, could you help me double-check/update if needed?

Palmax CS-600B
E-Teck HQ-2000
Ligitek LG-725
Ligitek LG-735
Megasoft MS 268
Universal V-7300 (black)
Universal V-7300 (white)
Link Electronics ENC-896
Link Electronics IEC-788
Link Electronics PCD-85
Link Electronics PCD-88
Hall Research CC-101

Also found online but with bad pictures:

Teknova KK2-1022 CCII (Mexico)
Digital PRO English/Chinese Caption Decoder (China ?)
API Agile Products CC1101

Here are a couple of images of the U-BEST.

Note it has a remote control sensor, but I don't have the remote.

Tried to add "Mycap Junior" CC Decoder, but the brand "Mycap Multimedia" is not found (no results match Mycap), and thus it says "Brand is undefined" and it cannot be entered.

I got myself the following close caption decoder:

CCD-110/M manufactured by IMI JAPAN

https://zenmarket.jp/es/auction.aspx?itemCode=d1082999229

It works pretty well. It provides adjustement of caption position on the TV screen, as well as the brightness of the captions.

Well, maybe it was used as a device for learning english in japanese schools. Definitely, the other two devices of his family look a lot more stylish.

Stylish? I guess if you like 90s Jenson VCRs it’s pretty great. I consider that sort of style to be the bottom of industrial design. The wrapped one is pretty loud…but at least they did “loud” right.
