I would imagine these films will benefit a great deal from HDR.

Now this is an interesting, if somewhat headmelting read.

Bought the Godfather box 4K just a few days ago and all I can say is WOW
They did a stellar job on this one.

I'm not very keen on re-buying every single title remastered but this is simply a stunning quality set.
It's a shame the Epic won't be available. Oh well... have the LD box 8-)

Interesting trivia I learned a couple of days back. The top 40 music charts in the UK were first compiled in 1952.

The very first UK number 1 hit record in 1952 was Al Martino's "Here In My Heart".

...and who was Al Martino? Why no other than Johnny Fontaine from The Godfather! Oh and apparently he did have some issues with the real-life mafia during his career too. Something around $75,000 as insurance for his recording contract which the mafia bought out. I'm not sure on all the details around that though, just what is written online.

Arm yourself with that on your next quiz night.

Just a heads up, the luxury tat edition is available in it's USA guise at Jeff's online retail store in Italy for a fraction of the cost elsewhere (e.g. missing the Blu Ray discs that come with the UK edition, but let's be honest, if you want the 4K versions you are hardly going to miss the SDR editions).

Suffice to say, I'm glad I got the luxury tat edition for a snip, but there is absolutely no way on Earth I'd pay full RRP for it. The box is flimsy with no markings on it it aside from the front. It bends easily too. The booklet is alright but if you own any of the deluxe Laserdisc sets you are set up nicely already. The prints are nice, but I certainly wouldn't be looking to put them in frames. Maybe a Godfather fanatic would, but that's up to them. If you pay RRP for the tat edition, prepare to be disappointed. With that said though, get it for a bargain from Italy and be happy. Considering it's less than the price of the standard edition at the moment, you'd be mad not to go for the full fat, full tat edition.

Leave the standard edition. Take the cannoli's.

I don't like to link to Jeff usually, but if you are looking for the full-fat, full-tat USA edition for cheap, then this is the right link you need. I added it below as a lot of folks seem to think that this item is for the Blu Ray set. It isn't, the item is the real deal 4K full-fat, full-tat USA edition. I can confirm this as I ordered it and took a chance, and it is indeed the right edition.

https://www.amazon.it/dp/B09PX315QX

Note though that it's now showing as €71.47. I got it for €62.05 including shipping (it was actually €55.28 excluding shipping, and then adjusted slightly once the New Delaware VAT rate is corrected and applied automatically at the checkout page). I am only guestimating, but I would very much doubt it will go that low again so I'd get in while it's still worthwhile if you are keen for the full-fat, full-tat edition. As aforementioned, if you don't need the Blu Ray discs that are in the UK edition (for me they would just be coasters) then this really is a no-brainer.

Shame on Paramount for the quality control though. For the money they are asking, at full RRP I think it's a rip off.
