You can clean this off and the disc should play fine, search up sticky edges, there are a few topics.
Unless the disc actually has rot then that's another issue.

Remember that movie, "Terminus", I've mentioned a few times in the past?

Well, it's got a blu-ray release. And I bought it. And I watched it. And boy was it rough.

If I had to describe it with one word, it'd be "abrupt". Stuff happens with almost no build up at all and tends to be resolved just as quickly. It almost feels like one of those TV miniseries that've been jankily edited into a feature length format, but they had to cut out way too much stuff to make it happen; it feels like at least a third of the whole film ended up getting cut out.

Planing to See The Bad Guys 2 in Theathers next week, hopefully its good.

The 4K of Transformers The Movie 1986. To my eyes it is overly bright. And the grain, while I'm an Anti DNR advocate, it appears as video noise and is not well defined. It is not as good as a negative scan could be. It is obviously from an interpositive. There is obvious print damage they used digital tools to correct.

To me it looks very 2k. There is no real sharpness to the image. I could have saved myself a few bucks and just bought the blu-ray. I still think the 5.1 mix is lousy and it's a shame the 4K is the widescreen and not the 4:3 version.

Bad for under 20 dollars no. Worth it no.

No digital copy included, I don't care. They did include a separate blu-ray of the 4:3 version in 1080P.

Any wide version of that movie is stupid.

Suffice to type, this film is not for the faint of heart.
Set in (my favorite genre) Post Nuclear War Dystopian future. Long enough for the rads to calm down, a tribe of mutant muto frogs have taken the stage as the earth prepares for another evolutionary chapter after we blew it.

I enjoyed this film. The opening scene just set the tone for a good B movie experience.
Made me wish to start a Gamma World campaign though !

There is no way this film would get made today. No bloody way.

Roddy as "Hell" is property of an all female government. His junk has a high tech safe over it. His mission - Infiltrate the Frog leaders Harem and impregnate as many of the females (human) as he possibly can to perpetuate the pure strain human race.
This is not parody, I am not making this up ! Someone got funding and a cast and crew to make a film with that premise ! ! ! !

THEY LIVE is still a better performance by Piper, however this shines a new light on his acting career.

Love it or Hate it, an original take on a Road Warrior future with Mutant Muto Frog Humanoids.

Watched robocop over the weekend

Ever seen the Reconstructed DVD?

If the answer is "no" then believe me, you have no idea how stupid it can get.

New here. Got Robocop the first one on DVD and planning to get it on Laserdisc. Is the Laserdisc transfer nice to watch?

Nice, I have the first Robocop on DVD, now I'm planning to get the Laserdisc for it. Me personally, I'm a collector VHS, DVD and down the line Laserdisc.

How is the Robocop Laserdisc transfer compared to VHS and DVD? I'm about to be where I'll start collecting Laserdiscs, too and would appreciate it if anyone can explain what watching a Laserdisc is like when shown on TV. I know it's analog signal on disc and all that but what other things are there that needs to be known for a newcomer like me? Thanks.

Its Decent for the time, but Since I only saw the movie thanks to a friend who had it on ld and streamed it on discord it might of have some latencey

I watched Star Trek II the Wrath of Khan. on 4K UHD. It was quite good except for the very obvious matte painting in the genesis cave. And if you aren't looking for the reused footage from TMP and the outtake footage used. Or you aren't willing to suspend your disbelief, and notice the reliant and Enterprise are the same set redressed. Or the fact the Montalban and Shatner never actually share a scene with them actually together. It's always a viewscreen or over communication.

All the ways the film draws attention to itself is on the lack of budget, and TMP was all about look at how much we spent. With the slow stately and long shot of the Enterprise in drydock. The grand scale of vistas and Vger. Trying to be transcendent like 2001 a space odyssey. The Human adventure is just beginning.

I watched the new He-Man movie. But was just okay. Where it references the tv series it does well. But a little too jokey. Its a bit of disaster for Amazon only making 100 million. I also saw Mando and Grogu the worst Star Wars movie ever made. I only liked the stop motion by Phil Tippett. I liked Jabba's son as a good guy that was unexpected. But it's like 4 filler episodes of a tv series. And the absurd ending where Dave Filoni and Sigourney Weaver are pilots in the new republic bombing the Hutts.

Mando himself is like a nonentity like you are watching someone play with their action figures.

I haven't finished Gunn Superman yet, what I watched I did not enjoy.

Supergirl I've been hearing terrible things about and some mixed.

Maul the Shadow Lord was okay as a cartoon but I'm not convinced Filoni is anything but a cartoon showrunner. The Vader/Maul fight was lame not peak.

I haven't liked any of Disney Star Wars except for the odd episode of Star Wars Visions. The Ronin. And that was very Kurosawa influenced.

I hate JJ Abrams Force Awakens and the Rise of Skywalker. Funnily enough Star Trek 2009 may not be a good Star Trek film, but its very entertaining minus the lens flares and all the stupidity of the way it neatly gets all the crew together in one place.

The casting is never the problem in JJ films, its always the pacing or lack of it, the writing. His style over substance. Mystery boxes. Lens flares, Shaking camera. Snap zooms. Dutch angles. He has tried to absorb Rod Serling, Alfred Hitchcock, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg into his work. He has none of their strengths. and nothing of his own to recommend him. no auteur work. it's always a remix of someone's else's idea or work. some homage. pastiche. a remake a requel. I despise Hollywood so much for such legacy sequels. the bad Ghostbusters, Star Wars and Jurassic Park retreads. I'm surprised they didn't remake Rocky.

Not a huge fan of anything that JJ has made personally (Star Trek trilogy is *fine*) but I will forever be grateful that we got a proper 4k transfer of Phantasm thanks to him and it being his favorite movie.

Also we did get Rocky legacy sequels, and while I haven't seen them I believe the general opinion is that the Creed movies are pretty solid.

Yeah. I liked the first two. But like the first Creed sort of was a remake of Rocky in a way. but not. and the sequel was a sequel to Rocky IV. The first two had Stallone. The third did not. I never finished the third one. I've been meaning to but never got around to it. Michael B Jordan directed the third film.

As for Abrams pushing for the preservation of a film. I wonder did he have any effect at all on Star Wars getting reverted back to its original form. They reconformed the negative to the 1977 cut and removed all the special edition material. for next year's 50th.

George Lucas is on a film preservation board with Scorsese. He long prevented Star Wars from being restored to its original trilogy version. He did the same to American Graffiti and THX 1138.

Well at least the Star Wars trilogy is saved. But will it ever receive a 4K release with Sony killing physical media? If it does it will be the last time I buy Star Wars, I will put it behind me. The decades long journey of the fans pushing for this to happen. We are all so very old.

And then the laserdisc will no longer matter. About damn time. Would have been nice two decades ago.

I want them to release The Star Wars Holiday Special in 2K or 4K!

And theaters!

It belongs in a museum! My museum of Laserdiscs!
