The other night I watched Mirage (1987) a great example of peak Chinese action from the golden age with incredible stunts, music, and talent but now almost totally forgotten. The horsemanship in particular really stands out and also when the director lit himself on fire, picked up a motorcycle, started it, then drove it into an ammo dump and exploded the entire bad guy base.

It’s definitely not in my top 10 movies of the genre…mainly because the plot is very thin and the melodrama absolutely off the charts corny but this is an amazing movie.

I re-viewed "again" "THE RETURN" 2024 1h 56min European contemporary version of the late part of the Odyssey. Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche, Claudio Santam, Marwan Kenzari, Charlie Plummer, and Roberto Serpi among many others.
Directed by Uberto Pasolini.
An epic depiction of a weary king years away from his homeland making his way back to the island of Ithaca.
Just the tail end of the Odyssey however my favorite part. Disguised in plain view by Athena, Odysseus assess the suitors laying waste to his estate, only to reveal himself by stringing his great bow and shooting an arrow through many axe heads. After the ultimate discovery, Odysseus slays every suitor to a man climaxing the epic reunion with his queen and wife Penelope and his son that was born when he first set off for the Trojan war.
Check this version, I feel it is a contender for THE ODYSSEY that just came out a few weeks ago.
