I know it was been requested for a long time.

I guess we can use it as "Super 35 / 2.xx:1" for the letterboxed framing and "Super 35 / 1.33:1" for the Open Matte?

Ex:
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) [PILF-1375] Super 35 / 2.35:1
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) [PILF-1376] Super 35 / 1.33:1

Although as a 2.35:1 transfer it'd still be considered letterboxed

Well it would have a letterboxed ratio but would lost picture on top and bottom so technically still matted?

Is this going to be used colloquially, for example on stuff that was presumably shot on regular 35 but has the similar two different crops and in 1.33 isn't open matte but P&S from the true open matte that didn't get a release?

The best you can manage :-)

Not trying to beat out IMDb on the technical details but more interested in managing expectations from people looking at a specific release to know what kind of transfer was used.

Super 35 makes it interesting to find both LBX and P&S versions since they will both have more pictures in different ways.

I trust technical details here more than on the Inaccurate Movie Database, lol

Is Star Trek VI pan and scanned or open matte on Laserdisc. I'm interested in finding out i know it was shot Super 35.

Star Trek VI is the only one of the original six films that was presented solely in letterbox (widescreen) with a ratio of 2:1. No pan & scan ever released (at least in the US market).
