Koyaanisqatsi, for some weird reason. Must've watched it eight times by now. It's not exactly what you'd call an attention-grabber, but it certainly has managed to grab mine. I wonder if it's the autism.

Good question … I haven’t really spun that many discs lately but in the past it was…. Song Of The South Aliens Special Edition The reason was simply people I knew kept wanting VHS copies of them so I ended up watching them as I edited them to tape with my S-VHS editing deck. Other than that, I spun up infrequently but more than several times the following other titles…. Sound Of Music (entertain my nieces) Mary Poppins (entertain my nieces) Blade Runner: Criterion (just one of the best sci-fi films of all time) Forbidden Planet: Criterion (another great sci-fi film that finally made sci-fi a serious genre) The Graduate: Criterion (just a damn good comedy on so many levels) Air Force One (mainly certain scenes to demo AC3) Star Wars: Special Edition (not really to watch in its entirety but using as an AC3 demo as well) I’m sure there are a few others but I have to think about it.

The holiday discs - these are either themed for the holiday or I first saw the movies around that holiday. Groundhog Day: Groundhog Day Star Wars Day: Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi Easter: The Ten Commandments Fourth of July: Top Gun, Independence Day, Batman Halloween: Ghostbusters, The Sixth Sense, Terminator, Arsenic & Old Lace Thanksgiving: Star Trek II/III/IV Christmas: It's a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, Die Hard Others that I have watched many, many times: Back to the Future I/II/III, Bladerunner, Highlander, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Prisoner, Tron, The X-Files; these are all classics and I just enjoy re-watching them, especially with friends and those that have never seen them before. So much better than the endless re-makes of today!

Which? I'd have to say 'The Fifth Element'
Why? Such a great story with a near perfect blending of so many elements of sci-fi and drama and comedy, acted by such amazing people in these roles, will call out Gary Oldman specifically (some personal bias) but they all excel in this piece.
And; if you avoid the DADC pressing. one of the very best PQ ever realised on LD. Totally agree on this one. Actually your mention of the US release being a notorious rotter prompted me to check my copy which plays flawlessly and sure enough its a Pioneer (Kuroray)? pressing rather than a DADC US disc thankfully!

The revised Blu-Ray is fantastic but if I could get a rot free LD I wouldn't mind because it's one of those like Lawrence of Arabia where the film quality is just so good that it will shine on any format.

Wow, yes, that is a great movie. I should watch that one again soon, it's been a couple of years now. I did not have any problems with the disc that I have but how do I tell if it's a Pioneer disc?
